Definition: Hypnotherapy Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis for therapeutic purposes. Hypnotherapy has been shown to be the most effective form of complementary therapy, because it works with the mind's natural way of changing and creating instinctive responses. All changes in behaviour and instinctive response involve rapid eye movement (REM) which is often observed during certain stages of sleep and in hypnosis.
Hypnotherapy is probably most well known for helping to change unwanted behaviours such as stopping smoking, and in weight loss, but is also effective for a wide range of problems including depression, panic attacks, self confidence and phobias. Further information * Free Online
