Do you know of any public speaking competitions (debates e.t.c) out there that's on TV or on any other media that one can listen to?

just have a look at youtube and search for debates

you should be able to find what your looking for.

You should join Toastmasters. Some clubs have debates, and if you join one that doesn't, get them to start a debate!
