Should I have to have a best friend or not? Is it mandatory?    Reply with quote

When my dad asks me why I don't have a best friend and I reply "because I don't feel the need to have one" he gets this disapointed look on his face like I'm not the norm. I'm completely confused. Should I have a best friend?

Desirable but far from mandatory, it's beyond your control. You'll know when you've got one.

Simple answer: NO.

This is just another mental trip. You main focus should be to be happy and peaceful in life.

The rest is not important. Lets hope your father is able to see this at some point.

No you do not need a best friend. Although it is great to have a close relationship with someone whom you can count on them to support you, it is not a necessity. If you don't feel the need then don't worry about it. If you can be completely happy the way you are now then that is the most important thing.
