I get so self conscious!    Reply with quote

Hi,

I am in recovery from long term anxiety which I am really trying to get over. I have had some CBT in the past which has really helped me but I seem to be left with one aspect of my anxiety that I can't seem to get rid of. This is that I am very self conscious and hyper aware of how other people are feeling and how they view me and the things I do. I think this may be a result of growing up in a family where my father was very critical and judgmental but I am really trying to work on my self-esteem. I hope to one day be able to just stop worrying about how other people think/ view me and just to get on with my life.

I know that this may seem like a relatively minor thing and I feel lucky that I have been able to recover to this point. I feel like this is the main thing that is stopping me from recovering. Does anyone have any hints or past experience of this? Any advice? I try to just not pay attention but for me it is easier said than done. Thanks x

Somehow we were never accepted as we naturally are from society: there was a consistent pressure to become something, to improve something, to do something: sometimes we get tired from that and we just choose to take nothing as too much important...

Society have given us too many nonsense responsibilities...

They didn't give us the tips, so we could make a choice, they gave us commands: and there is no passion on that...

and there are commands that creating confusions such as: TRY TO BE OPEN MINDED...

there is no such thing as being open minded, we don't have a magical brain ready to understand everything and multitask, that is not possible...

all the nonsense critics, all the nonsense statements have strengthen belief on most of us that " Something is wrong with me..."

There is too much what can be invest to our confidence and passion of life...
