I want to stay sad

Postby P-bags » Mon Oct 31, 2016 6:03 am

So I've done some searching and there hasn't been anything really close to what i'm feeling being put anywhere so I decided to just go out and say it myself. I need to be sad. I've been not quite bullied but more rejected since about 3rd grade. Right now i'm a senior. All of my friends live multiple states away except for a girlfriend that I've been having some troubles with so I've been fairly isolated and have been like this for a while. My favorite thing at this point is meeting new people and being sad with them. We would talk about whats upsetting us, learn each others stories, bond. It gives me some sort of purpose. It's been the common ground for starting almost all of my closest friendships and has very strongly shaped my taste in music, film, etc. If I think of myself ever being happy it upsets me (ironic right?) and I just want to sit there being sad forever. I'm not really looking for any solutions. Mainly just trying to get this out and see what you all think.

What I think:
There is nothing wrong with being sad.

Being sad is ok, being depressed is a whole different story. You can control your sadness, depression is something you can't control.

But there is also nothing wrong with being happy.

It's not so much that i'm sad thats the issue. That happens to everyone. It just seems sort of odd that the thought of me being happy genuinely bothers me.

Sometimes you just need to mourn about something.
