Paws and anxiety about heart

Postby Antmorales16 » Wed Mar 08, 2017 2:29 am

Anybody have any issues with obsessing over heartbeat and hear your heart always beating? My heart doesn't beat fast and it doesn't skip beats or anything but everytime I think about it it messes with me. I'm 3 and a half months in.. I do find myself anxious a lot.. Could that be it? This paws is a bitch but I do find myself feeling a lot better

Its definetly anxiety and panic. I went to the hospital in the first month i thought i was having a heart attack and I've had on and off chest pain up till now. Along with being achy and chills. I notice that we are all different with symptoms when it comes to timeframe. Some deal with chills only in the beginning where im still having them and im 6mo clean. I go to the doctor and they tell me nothing is wrong..i believe theres no way ive had a viral infection on and off for 6mo..it has to do with withdrawals or paws.. Hang in there it gets better. It can take up to a year to recover.

Thank you for giving me that reassurance. It's so wierd I can't even sit still without freaking out about it. And it's not even like its beating fast or anything it's like I can just feel it and I start to panic what if I have heart disease.. When I'm calm it doesn't bother me. But as SOON as I think about my Heart it bothers me.. So wierd. This will pass? Thank you.

Yes mine is when i think about my chest hurting it all of a sudden get worse..I honestly think its because we were so stoned that we didnt really feel anything..i also thought i had schizophrenia when i quit cause my mind was sooo weird and i had some weird donkey thoughts..i thought the devil was coming for me..and its all because we are starting to detox and our brain is trying to heal and our body doesnt know whats going on..and why isnt it getting any weed anymore..i smoked for18yrs straight everyday 3,4,5,6 times a day and i only quit 3 other times (maybe a month or 2). I also was addicted to pain meds and alcohol benzos really bad . I thought this would be a piece of cake since i went through all that years ago. It proved me wrong. I learned on another forum that weed can take up 180 to get out of your system if you were a heavy smoker.

Thank you for the reassurance. yeah mines is tightness in chest and feeling my Heart beat. I was scared but I think that's what was fueling the panic and anxiety.

I've made so much progression though. As you can see in my previous posts I was struggling with negative thoughts. Now I'm just still feeling a little empty "emotionally" and I lack pleasure. So still a lot to go through.
And with the heart issue. Did you freak out about your heart beating? Or was it beating really fast? Mines doesn't beat fast it just beats normally but I panic about it

Yes I think its cause we actually can hear our heart beat cause we are not blazed..so the thought of listening to it freaks you out. I delt with this in the beginning now its just some chest pain which ive learned its a symptom. Tightness or pain could be that our lungs are getting stronger again..alot of our symptoms mimic someone quitting cigarettes. Our senses are open..sight, hearing, taste, and smell so things freak us out its like we are hearing things or the first time..i never realized how i can be r my neighbors but probably cause i was stoned and didnt pay attention to anything else

Here's a study on the subject you can find on google.

Increased Blood Pressure Following Abrupt Cessation of Daily Cannabis Use
Ryan Vandrey, PhD, Annie Umbricht, MD, and Eric C. Strain, MD

I have these issues as well and have occasional chest pains along with high bp.

Antmoral and soberchic you're not alone in this. Keep me posted how your doing!

Yeah I have the same problems. I definitely notice my heart beating more and have occasional chest pain. I believe it's anxiety related, it's a sharp pain that happens for a few seconds and it's usually unpredictable.
