16 months off weed

Approaching 16 months off cannabis bar a couple of slips.ive smoked 2 joints since i quit..1 in june and one last wk. I have a couple of good days a week..i take ltheanine daily..5htp..ltyrosine..100mg of vit b6..3000mg of codliver oil and a multivitamin daily.
Im currently on my last nigntshift and anxiety is bad at the moment.ive recently had a weeks holiday in Spain and stayed in the apartment for 2 days as my partners family was there and it was a bit much socialising for me every day.I made a decision whilst i was there to go bk on weed as i just want my old life bk with no worries and wanted to feel 'normal'
My dad talked me out if it though saying i.have come so far.Some days it feels good but on a bad day i think about ending it all.
It is the hardest thing i been through in my life by a distance.Just cant see an end to it at times.I am posting this to keep my mind active as i feel im going mad.
I am considering trying phenibut to ease anxiety and i was wondering if anybody has tried this.Not sure if im taking enough supplemants already but i would consider adding this.
I go gym when i can and swim as often as possible.I think this withdrawal is going to go.on way past the 2 year mark.Just hope 3 years will be enough and my willpower holds out.I smoked for 25 years from the age of 14 and quit coldturkey last June.Done a lot of other drugs in past but the weed is the main one.
I read longterm smokers stories on here like olskoolru and netty for encouragement.
I HOPE to feel as they do now.
I can offer some advice myself if anybody needs it...good luck everybody ✌

Hi there and firstly well done for quitting.
In your post you say you want your old life back, to feel normal. If so, what were your reasons to quit?
The old life you want is waiting for you to make that choice. I don't mean to sound blunt but my belief is we have the capacity to make choices and that's it. We rationalise our struggle and offer up reasons why it's hard and your many it is but we still have the choice.
You've done well with your choices bar the odd slip but that's being human really. Don't throw away what you've achieved through making positive choices about weed but your old life is still there but did you really want it? If so surely you'd still be smoking?

I had an incident at work and had a major panic attack after i smoked that day.The situation in work has now been resolved.I thought at the time how horrible the panic attack was and decided to quit as i was 40 and had smoked so long.Just didnt expect what came next with withdrawals!!!
Im really worried i will never recover.
When i smoked i enjoyed it and had no anxiety untill that 1 day.
Im still hanging onto my job and relatinship but its really tough

Hi Swim,

I can imagine this... although I did not smoke for 25 years... Have you smoked on a daily basis?

IMHO 2 years are OK almost for everyone, but you will probably wait for little longer, if you "feel mad" in 16 months. I will be 17 months soon and feeling OK in general for most of the time, but there are still many dips (comming suddenly, and they last for few hours), sometimes day or two are "lower".

Even the "default" state of mind is kinda f*cked up, but it's quite mild when compared to first months.

How do you feel? Do you observe the undulating mood and mind integrity is getting better every month? Personally I hate the disapointing feeling when you "forget" the PAWS will come back again and... it comes :lol:

Anyway, you did a good work... and keep us informed, thanks for sharing!
