Weed withdrawal - erectile dysfunction

Postby mikeabbot » Wed Oct 18, 2017 6:24 am

Hey!

I'm 32 years old and as for now I'm 37 days clean of weed, nicotine, caffeine and alcohol (only had one alcohol slip in that time). Went cold turkey with all of them at once, because of some minor medical issues that required antibiotics.

I smoked a joint or two a day for almost 2 years.

Let me tell you that first 3 weeks were a horible experience and it's still going on, but it's much calmer now.
All the common simptoms, including hot/cold flashes, anxiety, jelly legs, lack of appetite, tension in belly and back, depression, dr/dp, focus probles, vivid dreams, nightmares are still here, but not that intense and I can go through the day kind of a ok now. Kind of. At first my mood was changing daily, but now it changes by the hour.

The weirdest issue I have is erection issues and no sexual desire (I want it really bad though). The most beautiful girl passes by and I'm like "meh". I was a very sexual person before that, but now I just can't get it hard. After first two weeks there were two days when my penis was hard and I could use it. I have a new girl and we just cannot do it. It's getting crazy that it takes so long to recover. I noticed that I get hard sometimes during the night and that gives me a bit of hope.

Did any of you experienced the same? How long did it take for you to recover and be able to get your mojo back?

Thanks,
Mike

Stress and worry impact on libido so it's more likely that than weed itself. You get hard when you sleep... which will also be when you're not stressed?? Not every symptom is because of weed/withdrawals
Best wishes

I have the same problem, quit for over 100 days and just started getting a little better to the point were I can have sex without the awkwardness of struggling to get it up. In the beginning I often could´t get it up at all though.

It's been a bit over 50 days for me now. While I feel better, physically, I'm still not cool mentally. And my erections are still weak. My libido is down and I feel depressed. I was never depressed in my entire life, so I guess I just have to go through that process so my brain adjusts back. Any other ideas/suggestions?

How are the stress levels now? And yes most likely you are "out of ballance"

do you have any anxiety around the sex? Is your woman telling you its ok?
I think alot resolves around anxiety and stress, it doesn't go hand in hand with sex drive..

I am not sure about this, you´ll have to do your own research. But I belive I myself could use some
help with getting my hormones in ballance. But I dont want to use any stronger drugs.

There is hormone ballancing herbs, tribulus terrastis, pine pollen. (no herb d-aspartic acid)

There is also herbs called "adaptogens" witch have been used for centuries to help you in
times of stress and change. I have been trying Rhodiola rosea but there is many.

I´m using Rhodiola rosea at the time and it midly helps with worry and anxiety. If you
are in the middle of it it will not help, its not a strong drug... But I have a feeling it might
be helpful seen over a period of time. If im in a ok mood I feel a slight effect.

If it doesnt get any better in lets say 1month I would go see a doctor. It would be
interesting knowing your testosterone levels.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am not a doctor or anything like that. These are only things you can look into.

I'm not sure if it increases libido for some, however I have no drive at all since quitting. It's not even a thought these days

Alright man. I know the feeling, trust me.

I´m sorry I have no solution for you, im kind of in a similiar position. I quit weed 5days ago and I have absolutly zero drive. But I have been abusing porn & mastrubation even though It have been something I have gradualy stepped away from recent months. Right now my dick is more or less dead.

I belive that #1 time will heal & #2 the stress/anxiety is playing a big role.

One way to "limit" or reduce the stress/anxiety about something is talking about it. Can you talk with your girl? It is ok to have periods when you have no drive. That is natural. In all honesty what man doesnt? An unsensitive animal of a man that you don´t want to be and your girl dont want anyway. It´s cool man, this will pass.

My personal experience is that weed makes me searching for plesures, sex being one of them, but particurly sex have never worked good for me while being high. Other stimulus that doesnt require me to be "real" or the natural me works much better, going to a cinema for example. Not much moral, emotions, whatever there. They say people who smoke have more sex. I think that is becouse you are emotional numbed out making sex more available in a sense and at the same time you are searching for pleasure or just to have a big "sensation".

Almost 3 weeks in and my drive is still non existent. I probably couldn’t get an erection if the hottest girl on earth wanted to hop in the sack right now..lol I have other things to focus on.. So it’s not really a concern or big deal right now

In addition to my last post.. I hope to meet someone down the road and have a healthy relationship. Not just intimacy.. But, I know this isn't the time or place. When I was a toker, I came across someone I loved with all my heart. Would've done anything to spend my life with her. But every time I'd tried to move things forward, she was very hesitant. Looking back now, I can admit it was my fault. Had my life been together, she might have given me a chance beyond dating and a longterm committed relationship. This was up there with some of the biggest things I lost in life. An opportunity I'll never have again.
The dysfunction is very low on the list of importance

Btw.. I blame myself.. Because she called me out for being stoned one night and said she wasn’t cool with that. Not for ED..lol

My libido and erections was problematic for about 4 months, slowly getting better. Now after 4,5 months its pretty much back again, no problems getting it up with girls and morning wood is back

It's been 65 days for me right now. And things are getting better. Still depressed, still have anxiety issues, low sex drive and low libido, but is much, much better than it was when I was writing the first message. Some days are good, some are bad. It's not a linear progress.
This gives me hope for the future and can't wait to reach my next goal, which is 90 days.
