pressure feeling in head

Postby panic313 » Wed Nov 23, 2005 12:16 am

does anyone else have a constant pressure feeling in their head? Mine feels like something is there, like a bubble or something. Anyways i know it is related to my panic attacks because it gets worse when my attack comes.

Also, does anyone sometimes feel like they can't talk?? I feel like my head is being pushed inward and i cant talk. Like my personality is being suppressed. Please i am scared!!!

For me a panick attack was more to do with my heart beating fast and a sensation of tightness in my chest and rush in my body..i was quite scared some times..like a pressure cooker inside..near to fainting.
This was 15 years ago.
I have been lost for words and depressed..anxious at times and hyper.
The only thing I would say..is that if you are really scared you should be brave and try to see a doc..it could be something else like migrane..
Try to be calm...try to rest...
When we confront our fear..we are taking a huge step..

Where is the pressure? Forhead? Back of the head? Sides? Does it hurt or is it just feel like someone compressed your head full of air? There are many answers to your questions. Lets start with this.. Do you have high blood pressure ?

That is due to adrenaline excess. That also rises blood pressure. The adrenaline - that is the bad guy. If you head sometimes feels like it is going to explode try accupressure or Indian Head massage. Too many chaotic thoughts can make you head tense. It's time to organize your thoughts. Transcendental Meditation and hypnosis can help - http://www.alphadynamics.com/
ANd also control your diet by eliminating coffee and sugars + white flour. These can give headache to some people...

i get this, and the doctor told me its stress headaches. which makes sense to me, im always stressed out, worrying ect..
but i would go to the doctor maybe a migraine and medication for them is great, also sinusis (i dont think i spelt that right )and again there are good medications for that to.

go to the doctors, and if you get a clean bill of health, then theres one less thing to worry about.

Panic313 I get the exact same symptoms. It feels almost as if I have a sinus pressure. This pressure then gets worse as the anxiety builds. I also get pressure behind my ears like the feeling you get when you're in a plane.

Don't panic! It's just your anxiety playing games with you.

No, the pressure is not like a headache and i dont have high blood pressure. It feels almost like a bubble is in my brain and pushing on my head. So when i stand i cant stand it, its soo uncomfortable. I had a MRI and it came normal but i swear something is there stuck. Feels like air pressure. And it makes me feel like it wants to float me away, but of course it doesnt.

Panic313 you said..."Feels like air pressure." I feel the same thing, I just discribed it a bit different. Like I said, feels like I'm in a plane. The same feeling you said about air pressure.

I have the same, occasional feeling of a bubble in my head, no headaches or pain, but some sensation of pressure as well. I don't know if the feeling
triggers anxiety or if I feel anxious because of the bubble feeling. It's not
quite dizziness, but a sensation of floating No doctor has ever given me an answer on that one either.

Maybe it's related to the fact that when I open my mouth,
my jaw on my right side clicks, maybe due to some cranial/structural factor. I also notice it when my sinus is not clear. All I can say is that I first noticed
this sensation in 1997 after I was stung multiple times by bees, and when
I was feeling anxious about the stings

I might have said this to you before, but that's how I feel as well. It feels like my sinuses are all screwed up but with a confusing distorienting effect.

Hi willv28,

You might be experiencing depersonalization/derealization too.

Hi there

I have had a presure feeling in my head on and off for 8 years. I can pin point the pressure in my head. It's at the top left hand side, I used to panic loads about it and think i had a tumour and all sorts. The doctor has never given me any tests but I've had it so long now that I out it down to my anxiety. Do you get any dizziness at all?

About 5 years ago I started getting horrible pressures in my head. Along with this I would get panic attacks where I could'nt think clearly and became paranoid and angry when this would happen. I can relate to what you are saying because I felt as though my personality was being changed and I could'nt do anything about it. I was unable to verbalize as well as I could before this happened. I started Slurring words and not being able to articulate as well as I could when I did'nt have the pressure. After going to numerous doctors, they werent able to find anything wrong with me. I payed really close attention to what might be causing the pressure that seemed to be causing all this. I found that the pressure was bad when I was around certain allergins such as cigarette smoke or molds. I ended up moving to colorado because my allergies seem to be the best here. I constantly made note of when my allergies got bad and tried to change that thing such as living in the city were my allegies seemed bad, probably from the smog. I now rarely have allergies, pressure or the panic feelings that follow.
