I also like to know about this too. I search on Google but I have to pay. Has anyone tried it and was it successful? |

it does work for some people, it works by using knowledge about the condition and relaxation techniques in combination to lower the arousal level so your amgdala part of the brain that acts like an anxiety thermostat can resett itself to a lower anxiety level. |

If you search the threads on the forum there was a lot about it about two months ago. The general feeling was that it helped some people but that it really was quite a lot of money for receiving information that was easily and freely available from elsewhere.
I think it's like other "talking" type therapies - they need a genuine effort and commitment and then they will yield results for many people. One of the problems with anxiety and depression is that they suck away the enthusiasm all so easily. I suppose, also, if it truly did work as easily and quickly as it claims, everyone and his dog would be using it! |

Hi I bought it but to be honest it wasn't great. A lot of money for common sense really. It didn't cure me - its claims are false in that respect. I am concerned that they take advantage of those desperate to feel better which I was - it took a long time to be delivered from memory too. It was the Citalopram that helped me and a lot of hard work, |

I do tend to agree with you on this one, the Linden Method doesnt really contain anything special, your CPN will already be offering you very similar advice to what Charles Linden is offering.
In no way is the Linden Method a quick fix, sadly the route to health may be a long one but you will get there in the end |

Get a good NLP therapist.
Regular CBT and psychoanalysis actually have terrible track records at treating these kinds of conditions.
As do SSRI's in the long-term.
I've not tried this yet but have heard some very good reports - a piece of software utilizing CBT, NLP and TFT techniques, designed by highly regarded phobia specialist Lawrence Leyton
http://www.lawrenceleyton.com/software.php
The biggest difference between seeing a therapist and using a book/software, is that people don't tend to stick with things long enough for them to be effective - people often go into exercises half-heartedly - you do have to put the work in. |

Dear Maynard
How nice to see you popping up again!
Where is this track record you refer to recorded, so to speak? The track record of CBT in the NICE clinical guidelines and the peer review literature is actually pretty good. Well, very good in fact. Perhaps I've been missing something?
You are, of course, right about psychoanalysis, which is why its provision was ceased in national health services settings (well, one of the reasons).
Private practitioners often have a different agenda, which is why both the NICE guidelines and the anxiety charities (NPS, no panic, no more panic, ocduk, ocdaction, TOP etc) are a really good resource.
Anyway, fun surfing this site on a sunday evening.
With best wishes

| The Linden Method |
|
Hi, well the main focus behind this method is:
'Meta-Mnemonic Reprogramming'
Well that is another word for programming the mind used by Psycho Cybernetics and other therapies of the some ilk.
I found nothing new or of value in the Linden Method and it is not widely used as far as I am aware.
CBT is useful, I know it has it faults, but I find is very effective with clients as does NLP and counselling.
Best Wishes

As I deal with many, many sufferers on a daily basis and have spoke to more people I can remember on the subject, then obviously this product has come up in the past.
I have never used or seen it myself, so before Charles sets his people on me this is what i have been told.
Some people say it was a complete waste of time and others say it really helped them. Many said it was information they had read before, others say it was good info that helped. The support they received was o.k and some said poor.
This is from a very broad range of people, so it is up to the individual really to make there own conclusions. |

| The Linden Method review and recommendation |
|
As a ex-anxiety sufferer, I can assure you this is a legitimate and highly effective program. The Linden Method was created by a man who suffered with anxiety and panic for many years. The program has been around now for about 10 years and is certainly not a scam. If it were, it wouldn't have survived this long.
You can read The Linden Method Review that I wrote at http://searchwarp.com/swa133508.htm
The article discusses his research and the facts he unearthed while seeking his own answers and while creating his program. He discovered the real facts behind anxiety and panic disorder.
Keep in mind that you cannot rely on all experiences because you cannot be sure the individuals followed the instructions properly. Charles even states that if anyone is notgetting the results expected, they can call his office directly for support to be see what's wrong and find solutions.

| Panic Attacks |
|
Hi All,
I have gone down the road of trying out most of these programs as I believe that it is important to keep educating yourself about different conditions. I used to suffer for about 3 years from Panic Attacks and I kept on buying and reading new material and there is always something you can learn from different authors and perspectives.
I have read Panic Away by Joe Barry and I think that this is a great product and it has a technique that I think is great. I kept on using the technique and some other things that I have learnt and with consistency and time I don't have them anymore. I also made a lot of other lifestyle changes which helped as well, taking out certain foods, exercising regularly, stop taking alchohol, coffee and other things. It depends how much you want to stop these attacks. I am actually now very thank ful because all these changes have made my life 500% better. It sounds silly but I am grateful for having the attacks because they made me change.
I do have say that Joe Barry's book was very useful to me and it is less money. In my opinion though I would continue to invest in these programs and learn from them, thats how I beat them. If you don't like them most have a refund policy so get your money back. I think Joe Barrys book is $67 which is nothing really and you can contact him via email aswell.
One other tip that if I was to go through what I went through again, I would get someone to do the exercises with. Phone each other up or find someone that has beaten them and get some advice. Talking to people who just talk about getting through this will not inspire you to get through it. There is a great phrase which as irritating as it is, it has a point. 'People become the people they spend the most time with' Just think about that for a moment...
Check out this site as there is a great book you can get for free as well
www.panicawayforever.com
that I think has some great techniques in it. You only get it if you buy the PanicAway program. If you really can't afford it then just buy it get the free book and then ask for your money back. I would not advise this because I think it is worth the money you spend. But just do something to help yourself because life is better on the other side.
Take care |

| The Linden Method versus Panic Away Reviews |
|
Hi,
You are right, Bennash. To recover, people need 'supporters', not people who will bring them down and not understand their situation. By surrounding ourselves with positive people, we are sure to recover and be much happier.
Fortunately, we're talking about two people here who do understand, who have done their research and have produced programs that are proven to work.
Panic Away is less expensive than The Linden Method. Both offer excellent advice and personally I believe they are of equal value otherwise. For some people, Panic Away works while for others it does not. I've heard more reports from people saying that Joe's product didn't work for them. Whereas, I cannot recall every hearing such comments about The Linden Method.
Both products come with a refund guarantee - no questions asked. In fact, having examined both of these products myself, I see the benefits of each approach. One will work for some, while the other will worth for others. It all depends on the individual.
During my recovery, the methods described in the Linden Method were the most effective, but everyone is different.
The only way to find the right one for you is to try them one at a time. Follow the instructions correctly, and if they don't work, try the other product.
You can read my reviews on both of these products and compare for yourself. Simply click here http://www.book-titles.ca/adtrackz/go.php?c=anxietycurearticle where you will find more information and tips about anxiety, my own story, as well as links to Panic Away and The Linden Method reviews.
