I I'm new to the forum so this is my first thread. I have Bulimia and am currently seeing a psychologist once a week and also on a wait list for an eating disorder program. On Tuesday when I saw my psychologist he said that next session he wants me to bring a lunch with me to eat during my session and we can practice healthy eating. I'm nervous about this and also wondering if anyone else has done this before or heard of this?
No reason to be nervous. You do eat. I understand you have bulimia, but it doesn't mean you go entirely without food, so there is no reason to be nervous about packing a lunch to take with you to your appointment.
Sounds like a great way to opportunity to show him that you can select a healthy meal and share that mealtime with another person as we all do when we eat at work or in the school canteen or local resturants. People without eating disorders often do this without thinking but I appreciate it can feel a little daunting for some of us depending on where we are recovery wise. Hopefully he or she will make you feel at ease and you will find this is another step forward in your recovery. Will you let us know how it went?
