thread #1, thread #2

-1- While ranting on no sleep, you create walls of text (no paragraph breaks) making it difficult to decipher exactly what advice you are looking for.

Now that you've presumably had some sleep (have you?), can you state one or more concise questions you'd like addressed?

-2- This is not a very active forum. Be patient.

LOL thank you guys for replying! I was on here years ago and it was very very much alive, but yes I can see now it has changed. Im on here for many reasons actually..... mostly to see if I have a leg to stand on regarding my sister in law, and to I guess figure out my place in a marriage that seems..hmm...like something needs to give. So I try to narrow down my issues but when theres sooo much built up underneath, it tends to get cluttered. I hope through my other posts, that ppl can filter through and lend some advice. Mostly here for conversation.

Would you consider letting your sister-in-law live her shallow and superficial life while you enjoy your deep and meaningful one? That could work.

Your place in your marriage isn't too difficult, either. You're a wife and a mother. If either of those roles is untenable, you may need to ask yourself (not online strangers) what would suit you better.

You could waste a lot of years trying to control your husband instead of simply trading him in.

takes deep breath-- I would love for my sis in law to live her life very much...just dont be in mine as much. If I came to your house, you just met me and started telling you I think you should do xyz, and then literally tell you your stupid, then tell you to not talk to your husband bc hes busy with whatever...wouldnt you kinda step back and be llike hmmm..you just met me?? Then, when you open your house to me -- I get mad at you for not letting me invite my friends, and stand you up after you bought dinner for me, etc....bc I didnt understand why you were feeling tired that day and not giving me attention, even though you told me multiple times it was the anniversary of your dads death and you just wanted some space. Im curious how you would feel in those situations bc times that by 50, and thats my dynamic with my sister in law. I keep getting the vibe you really think I have some form of better than thou attitude, and I honestly dont. As for the caps, I was just being funny, didnt know about the rules but now I know. I do think me trying to control my husband is very funny but people read things differently. I dont control him at all, Im trying to find a voice for myself and a path to my happiness after years of being controlled..good or bad. I also think ppl have a right to say they do not like a group of people and be annoyed with it, I dont see why the world forces everyone to hold hands and sing songs when---some ppl just dont jive, its ok..

also a wife and a mother still has a soul. we all wear different hats, my job as a mother is 110 percent and Im very proud of that, my job as a wife is pretty good, still have room to grow, by place with myself though is something I need to figure out. Kids grow and husbands do their own thing..... life is precious and life runs so much deeper then the name tags we wear that day. I also feel I have a right to post just like anyone else, bc it helps me just to vent...wether it makes sense or not. I think it takes a brave person to hold a mirror up to their soul (not to who they are at work, or as a wife, or a mom, or the dog walker) but who they are as a soul, ---and say hmm, Im not quite happy, here are my demons....now what. Just my 2 cents
