Weed withdrawal - erectile dysfunction

Hey @Tokes, I didnt know you were going through low libido / ed too. Well glad to hear Im not the only one with a recovery this long. On most days, I need ed meds to have sex with my partner too (29yrs old!!)

Ima t 1.9 years (2 next month). 3-4 months ago was the first time I felt "normal" libido wise, and didnt need ed meds to get hard with my partner. But it only lasted 4-5 days. After that, back to low libido (and other symptoms returned too). About 1.5 months ago, same thing happened - my libido increased along with most of my symptoms getting better at the same time! great! but it only lasted a week or so again; then back to poor sleep and low libido.

The past 1 week I finally had a close-to-normal libido again; or close enough at least. But today my symptoms retured and I feel low libido once again.

I hope it will start to come more and more often; but it is good to have at least a few days of feeling a more normal libido after a couple years of feeling nothing.

I havent gotten checked out by my doctor since PAWS started but I am going to this week; now that I am feeling closer to normal. I hope to check out all the problems that could lead to ED; mostly testosterone levels as I am healthy and get plenty of exercise otherwise.

@tokes.. didn’t know you were still around. Your post have helped me tremendously in coping with all this. I’m just at 6 months 17 days. How long did you have heart palpitations, or do they every go away, and a racing heart at times? Thanks

@SparkFly12 and Tokes, thanks for responding on this! The thought of using ed meds at 31 years of age is itself making me anxious and super nervous. I abused cannabis for 4 years (3-4 joints for 2 years and 1-2 joints for 2 years). My T are normal.
Did anybody take any naturopaths, sex therapy or alternative treatments. how is that so many addicts recover fine but we are just done in the "getting it up" department with just weed?

@Mikeabot mentioned he went back to fully being normal under a year. Just wondering if we were already ED candidates and weed is just taking the blame?
i did feel quite low/depressed for 3 months after quitting but starting to feel normal. Is there no recovery for this, like running, eating healthy, no fap for 3-4 months? Or should I assume Viagra is my only hope for life?
There are some full time recovers on the thread so just anxious as I used to be able to get hard with a thought but not anymore.

I definitely had ED episodes while smoking - since i stopped (4 years ago) thing keep on going up and down. At the time, i thought it was because of my weed habits, but now, i guess it was not.. Well the good news is that Sildenafil (viagra generic) works well though, so my occasional lovers leave usually very happy!

So here I am 2 years and 2 months after quitting.

I too saw my sex drive go up and down when smoking regularly, Id have ED some days and be OK others. Its one (of a few) reasons I quit weed. I thought it could be contributing.

When I quit weed, my sex drive went to 0 for a long time. ED for the whole time.

Now at 2 years and change, I have some days where I feel normal; and other days where I have mild/moderate ED. I dont know if these days will get better with time, or if this is just how I am. I do still have other mild PAWS symptoms; and when I get a PAWS wave those seem to be the days that I also have ED. So it may still be PAWS related, but only time will tell.

As Gitana said, sildenafil works on those days I have mild/moderate ED; even the smallest dose (12-15mg). Back a year ago, I had to take a bigger dose; 17-25mg.

I got my Testosterone levels checked, and they are on the lower end of what is considered normal. So maybe someone like me just has spouts of ED intermittently. Time will tell.

Anyway, I will post back when I have

@SparkleFly12 yep, I still struggle with ED and still need ED meds for sex with women. Its annoying as I usually have to plan in advance as I like to take 5mg of cialis at a time instead of 20mg all in one go which makes me flush and have a blocked nose. I never had a problem with ED while smoking, but quitting developed this problem.

I get morning wood sometimes and I can keep it up to masturbate but for sex with a woman its just a myth. 3 years in and still no improvement. I am in my ideal weight, i work out and do sports - what a nightmare for a 29 year old.

I got testosterone, cortisol, ultrasound on heart and veins done - all is normal. So wtf is wrong? I was handed over to sex therapist by my local doctor but I gave up on that because I could not relate to any of the questions she was asking.

In the UK, there is a company called numan which claims it can find the source of your ED. I am not in the UK atm tho so I can't try that...but for anyone that is give it a go! i'll be interested to see the results.

@FAITH I am really happy to hear that my posts have helped you through your journey. I realised recently a lot of my heart palpitations were linked to nicotine use. I stopped smoking cigarettes a month ago and the heart palpitations almost reduced to zero without the cigs....so I guess I found the cause of the problem for that one! But yeah in general, after about a year to a year and a half - the heart palps definitely lessen in severity.

Hi- I'm pretty sure I've been going thru this too. I was having weird leaky/crawling discharge feeling and extreme difficulty having an erection, and orgasm was extremely uncomfortable. This was in early/mid March and I found out I had a bacterial infection. I was prescribed a 10 day penicillin course and the symptoms went away a few days into it. Then on 3/16 I smoked with a couple friends. All my PAWS symptoms went away for two days but then returned including the leaky discharge feeling and it continued until i went on another antibiotic course near the end of March, and I finished it a little into April I think. It's been gone at this point. However I DO still have some ED weirdness, I only started getting morning wood again this past week or two. i've noticed though when i do get an erection, I'll have precum not long after it goes down. I mean I know that's normal if you have the erection for a while but it's been happening a lot today. Anyone have a lot of precum happen with their WeedPAWS-related ED?
