Bullies at workplace!

Postby kanna » Wed Nov 30, 2016 6:46 pm

I have joined an MNC after college. There are group of guys like from same university, who used to mock and avoid me.I tried for a long time to be nice to them. But haven't changed their way.So I confronted them & stopped speaking to that group. But One of the guy workstation is being allocated in front of me.So I almost feel fatigue by not speaking and avoiding him.Draining out energy so fast. But I made my mind not to speak.Any suggestions on how to overcome it? Feeling hopeless

Sounds like you are the bully.

In your entire post you used a single word that suggested they behaved in an unfriendly way, the word "mock".

Trying to avoid you is not them bullying you. They simply don't like you. Them not changing their ways when you try to be nice is not them bullying you. That is you imposing yourself on them and thinking they must change for you. Now you are doing it again. The guys work station is being allocated in front of you. That is not his fault. That is not him bullying you. Instead, you are the one not speaking to him as if that is somehow suppose to do something?

It sounds like you try too hard and expect that people must like you. If they don't like you then you label them a bully. You can't force people to like you.

I recommend you learn to accept that some people in the world will not like you and don't waste your energy trying to figure out how to force them to change. That is being a bully. It will save you a lot of energy.
