Maybe protein thing is a myth. Our ancestors used to live with only fruits. Why couldn't we?

We've been conditioned to believe that we "need" protein, as in getting protein from sources other than the raw foods of nature. Actually, what we need are amino acids, which are components of the protein molecule. There's plenty for our needs in the raw foods. Proteins, being a complex molecule, needs to be broken down into amino acids, anyway. The process of breaking them down takes energy, and leaves a residue that needs to be cleaned up.

Regenerative detoxification is a long term process. It takes a certain mindset to stick with it for the length of time it takes complete the regenerative process. Many/most people go back and forth between a detox period and then eating the normal cultural foods. It is difficult in today's world to stick with it staunchly, while others around them are not eating as they do, or they succumb to the emotional pull of traditional foods, etc. That's why it takes a strong and determined mind to do it properly.

Anything that you can do in that direction is good; it is all a learning process.

Yes strong and determined mind is needed. Although my record isn't so bright when it comes to determination I'm willing to apply a strict raw foods diet at least for some time. I wonder how it will affect my mood..must try.

Green tea and alcohol are out, of course.

Good luck, desperate! We're all behind you.

Quietvoice will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the only drinks allowable are fruit and vegetable juices.

It's a bit of work, but I'm sure the result will be worth it.

Have a look at this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6uPN3iN9aY

And water I think. Making juices at home isn't the lazy man's favorite.

If you take a look at Joe Cross's online material, you'll see he talks a lot about nutrients. Raw fruit and vegetables are 70 per cent water anyway, with vital nutrients that are often sadly lacking in modern diet. He says pack as much in as you can; iow, drink juices. All the water you need, plus nutrients.

Making juices at home isn't the lazy man's favorite.

If you just get started, sincerely doing what you know you need to do, you'll soon start to feel better. But be warned: even Joe Cross admitted to feeling rotten for the first few days.

It depends how much you value the rest of your life, and that's a hard call if you're so accustomed to complaining about everything that you don't know who you'd be without it.

Joe Cross made a movie about his transformation at the age of 40. It was called Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead.

It's a 1:28:37 movie FREE TO VIEW that starts with a sick and overweight man making the decision to change, and ends with him slim, enthusiastic, ready to tell the world how he did it. Does that spell SPAM to you??
