I have to say that personally, and I'm sure there are others, I'm not actually sure exactly what "emotional intelligence" is or means. Something I haven't given much thought to before, maybe I'll do a search or two and see what comes up?

It's not a status, not a position, and sadly in the terms of this forum.. say, what is it to be wise? You'll never take that, you build that. It's not a game. You don't enherent that.

Wisdom isn't a thing, an attribute, it's a work over time.

What is it to be emotionally intelligent, to understand this mess all around you, but also to better understand yourself. To have struggled, fumbled, made huge mistakes and cared about the outcome, and sorted out how to engage better.

Emotional intelligence isn't a thing, it's a description of a complicated individual work. It's not even i raw ntelligence, it's sanity. Brutal honesty doesn't cover easily, people are so dearly entrenched in superstition, religion, culturally infused mind f'ing ways.

To understand every word you say or choose not to say, every expression made real and all all those not expressed and HOW YOU GO ABOUT ALL THIS... That's your contribution to culture/civilizatiin.

People get so caught up with their business they myopically focus on games, ignoring human beings, and other expressions of life.

I'm sorry, there are no simple words of direction. The sooner you realize some things.. words are evocative in sharing. When there is no work, no comprehension, how can any words evoke a shared understanding? There is no contextualization of reality to even begin to start a dialog.

You should have asked about Emotional delusions. Intelligence requires formative works, which sadly don't exist.

I would think that people who have high can know and control his/ her emotion, not easy to get angry; can always think positive and feel confident; know other difficulties and always help others. This kind of people should make you feel more energetic when you are with them.

I don't know if we can "master" EQ, but we can certainly practice it. I think, as others have already said, EQ = being honest and persistent in one's self-examination and acknowledging mistakes; and it also means perceiving what is going on with other people and knowing how to relate to others in general.
