So you made sure he had a written request, then you told him not to bother?

If you think you need to follow this up, maybe you could call him again (as he's expecting) and check what documents he has.

He says he doesn't have the legal books which is most important

I think he's in more trouble than you are.

Desperate, he's in trouble. You aren't.

Help him out if you can and want to, but it sounds like he needs this lesson about how to run a business. Don't even consider falsifying anything to save him from himself.

Is this on record, or was it verbal?

What was the reason you gave this advice? From memory, because you know bringing his receipts will get him into trouble.

How likely is he to say this?

Also, I believe you told him you were going to call him again. If you do, make sure you tell him he needs to bring anything that's relevant.

I predict that not too far in the future, this will all be over and you'll be worrying about something else.

If he brings receipts that surely a mess trouble for me will intensify I said that on phone may be recorded I just looked he registered two books legally but says he doesn't have them asking what they are I don't want to worsen my worry and position by calling but if I have to I call I hope this turns out to be junk worry in the coming days as you say

His mess, not yours.

he registered two books legally but says he doesn't have them

Either he lied about having them, or he's disposed of them because they would cause trouble. For him, not you.

I don't want to worsen my worry and position by calling but if I have to I call I hope this turns out to be junk worry in the coming days as you say

So sit tight and let this unfold. I promise you'll survive it.
