Stress after recent promotion?

Hello

A few months ago I accepted an offer for a promotion at my job. I thought I knew exactly what I was going into, but turns out the job is much more stressful than I expected. I can't step back down because I desperately need the money (new job is an extra £250 a month). I was expecting the work, and can do it, but the stress in the team is too much for me and it's affecting the work I do. I've never been in this situation before so was wondering if anyone has some advice? I don't know what to do.

Get very, very specific about what exactly is causing stress and then work to address each issue.

In other words the new role is not causing you stress. That is too general. The team is not causing you stress. That is too general. What specifically causes you stress within the team? Is it interactions with a particular team member? Is it specific criticisms? Is it a specific policy or practice?

Create a list. Identify what specifically you find stressful.

Stress can be positive and motivating. Too much stress over a period of time can cause illness and no amount of money (certainly not £250) can replace your health.

Sometimes we can overthink and over complicate things. One question - are you happy? If not change it. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting the same result.
