Hogwash!

If the above is what you actually wanted that is what you would be discussing. But no, instead you avoid that discussion while typing a page reinforcing and justifying your certainty and ignore the discussion regarding the path in life many people have already taken to avoid sexual desire.

If you truly wished to pursue a life without sexual desire, that is what you would have focused on. In fact, if that is what you truly wanted to discuss there would be no need to include a reason. You could have entirely left out your looks or beliefs regarding being unattractive or undesirable. There are plenty of people that pursue a life without sexual desire for reasons other than being unattractive.

Stop lying to yourself and others. Until then you will be stuck.

Are you kidding me? It was YOU who initiated the conversation on my inability to get women, shifted the topic of the thread, and insisted that we stay on that topic. I never once deviated off my originally proposed question until your idiotic "quit lying" posts forced me to.

Throughout history and among certain professions, celibacy or abstinencte is the norm. Specifically there are certain spiritual practices that focus on transcending the physical.

My initial response. Where is your inability to get women mentioned?

Then why ask on a psychology forum? All you had to do was google it.

From https://io9.gizmodo.com/5883248/the-lon ... ual-desire:

Licorice. Yes, that stuff that they sell at the store in glossy black spirals comes from the licorice root, Glycyrrhiza glabra, and it lowers testosterone. It is potent enough that eating about twenty-five grams has a strong effect.

From https://www.livestrong.com/article/6085 ... sex-drive/:

Step 1
Infuse your diet with soy. Soy has been proven to reduce testosterone levels, which will in turn reduce libido.

Step 2
Eat a low-fat diet. Increased consumption of fat is associated with an increase of testosterone levels, but cutting back on fats--particularly saturated fats--will help bring your sex drive down.

Step 3
Eat the herb caste tree berry. Also known as "monk's pepper," this supplement has been used to reduce libido since the Middle Ages. But unlike most other herbs, it has retained its use, as it has been proven over time to be effective in combating a high sex drive.

Step 4
Stay away from animal proteins. The proteins and hormones found in meats like beef, chicken, pork and turkey can contribute to high testosterone levels. Vegetarians tend to have lower testosterone levels than omnivores, and thus lower libidos.

Step 5
Exercise frequently. Working out reduces your testosterone levels while increasing cortisol. Marathon runners frequently have lower-than-average testosterone levels because of this.

Step 6
Visit your doctor and ask about medications that might lower your sex drive. Your options will vary depending on your medical history, but there are multiple pills you can be prescribed to help you win the battle against an overactive sex drive.

Power lifting, low repetition and heavy weight has shown to increase testosterone. So I propose that the type of exercise can be a factor.

Being significantly overweight can also result in lower testosterone.

All good information for someone looking to eliminate sexual desire.

No you didnt have to. You chose to. And you chose to put your question in a relationships forum, not a psychology forum. Why would you do that if you didn't want relationship advice?

And It's very irritating when people offer up the same platitudes and bs you guys are saying like "look at all the ugly people who get laid" or "you gotta have the right attitude man."

No not platitudes or BS, just true (and easy) observations that show how irrational your beliefs are.

Even my 73 year old dad gets flirted with aggressively by young, hot waitresses every time we go out, and I get utterly ignored. They won't even laugh at a small joke I make, but seem to hang on his every word. It's unbelievable.

That you don't understand this (find something with a straight-forward explanation "unbelieveable") says a lot about your beliefs surrounding interacting with women.

If I spent 5 minutes watching you interact with women I bet I could tell you why you're not getting any bites... and it would be nothing to do with your looks and everything to do with having an unattractive demeanour.

I never said that how you feel is irrational. Sure you got rejected a bunch of times and you don't get why so you've gone into a "well I don't want to play anymore then" sulk. Self-protection. That in itself is not irrational. What is irrational is your phoney excuses and your phoney "solution".
