I need help

Postby jmh335 » Wed Jul 18, 2018 4:58 am

Here I am. Awake again. I only slept a few hours last night by taking Benadryl. I feel absolutely terrible. I’m not going to sleep tonight either. I can literally feel my mind trying to sleep but I can’t get there. Feels like I’m tripping. This is literally torture. I might honestly go back to smoking. Anything is better than this. Literally I can’t imagine anything worse.

Hang in there. I know how you feel. I’ve been there. It will pass.

Once it does. Hit the gym and a sauna. Then practice some quiet breathing before bed. Then read a book for as long as you can.

You won’t die from lack of sleep. You can still get sh** done on no sleep. Your body will crash eventually in max 3 days. Hang in there.

Watch a movie, surf the web. Enjoy your new tiime. Don’t fight it. Fighting makes it worse.

Whenever you can’t sleep. Just smile because it means you are healing.

In 2 weeks you will be back to sleeping.

Don’t take Benadryl or any over the counter sleep aids. I found they just make me feel like sh** and awake.

I found natural sleep aids better like melatonin, tea, CBD or ltheanine

Or ask your dr for low dose doxepin or Trazodone. I found both helpful on the really bad days.

Thanks for the reply. It’s been an incredibly hard day. This is just miserable. I remember I had trouble sleeping before I started smoking also. I wonder if this is just me? There are people out there who are just shitty sleepers.

Idk what to do. I would love to just take a sleep med for the rest of my life, but from everything I’ve read you build tolerance really quickly. I can’t take trazadone unfortunately because it makes my nose swell and I can’t breathe so I can’t sleep. The only option that seems left is going back to smoking. I literally never had a night that I couldn’t sleep while smoking. Maybe just once at night wouldn’t be that bad if I’m super strict.
