Helping Eachother with our Insecurities and self love

Postby lshek167 » Thu Aug 09, 2018 6:36 pm

Hello Everyone,

This is a thread I've wanted to start a little while know in hopes to really help those come out of their shells and take that journey to self--love.

I would love this thread to become somewhere were we can all share our insecurities and how we feel about ourselves, as i feel this is one step closer to knowing about ourselves.
I know that the journey to self-love can be painful and scary. I've been there and its been a long road. but do you know what got me there? sharing my insecurities.
It can be scary to admit what you find imperfect or insecure about yourself, feeling thoughts bottled deep inside, creating a small ripple effect through your relationships and personal life.
We can also be very critical of ourselves, when we shouldn't be, and judge ourselves in a light which cant be justified in. It's easy to only concentrate on the surface of ourselves but what about whats happening in the inside?
We as human-beings neglect this a lot .
Sometimes it takes that little nudge to come out of your shell and talk about it.
Speaking out loud can sometimes change your perspective on how you judge yourself.
Little things can make a big mental change may it be with a stranger or a close friend, sometimes the release can be very empowering.

So i would love it if we all engaged it this, as i think it could help the community alot!

tell me and I will listen.
what are you imperfections / insecurities?

Hi there,

I just wanted to say im so glad you created this post as I have been extremely hesitant to create a thread in the past.

After reading your post, it really gave me the confidence to share how I feel about my insecurities. I've always been told that I have a great body etc. But when I look into the mirror, all I see is all the flaws... i feel the total opposite to what they say.

Instead of just pointing/ concentrating on the flaws, why dont you try and find something on your body that you do like/love about?
Sometimes it just take that one small thing to change your mindset in others.
Even if its your hair, how it sits well on the day, long eye lashes, the shape of your lips.

EVery day when you wake up, look at yourself in the mirror. and comment something you love about yourself.
this will get you started in thinking about your body in a more positive way!

I dare say . . . is this new member a sock puppet of the OP, also a new member? Similar writing, same username format, answered as soon as this new user had posted, and liking each other right off . . . correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm so sorry to hear that, i hope you feel a bit better now, and if not take life, a step at a time, we give ourselves high expectations and whenever we don't achieve that, it becomes agitating to us leaving us deeper wounds.
sometimes we need to be okay with ourselves first to be in a healthy relationship. so its okay to be by yourself to create an environment where you can rely soley on yourself.
