Longing isn't that great. That's about wanting what you can't have, isn't it?

I believe the trick is to notice how much good stuff there is in our lives right now. When we focus on that, we get more things to feel good about.

Conversely, if we keep thinking about what's wrong with life right now, we get more things to feel bad about.

I agree, you were. It seems your thinking has shifted a bit since then.

Here's a third affirmation:
Life just keeps getting better!

You are right. Your lack of certaintity of longing mirrors my lack of certaintity of love. Because these are two different worlds, contradicting, where experience as you mentioned in the thread about God is futile. Because their mutually exclusive.

A quick google for a quote i can't find gave: “Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”

I think that was Marianne Williamson quoting A Course In Miracles. Makes good sense, doesn't it?

Maybe I have more important health problems than seeking love or love is the key to all my problems.

Loving yourself is a good start. If you don't love you, who else can? And how can you love anyone else?

So do we all. The world is one great revolving loony bin. You're here to figure out how to heal yourself.

my ideas may be too simple and wrong..

Being bored with life suggests so.

You have challenges. We all do. If you keep thinking horrible thoughts about yourself, guaranteed your experience of life will continue to get worse as the years pass.

Do the experiment. Think better of yourself. How hard can it be?
