Constant refrain. An anti-affirmation.

Is there any sense of growth toward the 'incredible lightness of being' to be found?

Look, kiddo. The more that you state your worries, the more worries you attract to yourself. It's the law. You've got to turn your thinking and emotions around if you are wanting something different in your experience.

Are you wanting something different in your experience?

Im not sure if I want anything from life..It seems so meaningless from time to time . I lose the point at struggle for life.

I didn't ask if you want anything from life. I asked if you want a different experience.

How do you suppose one goes about getting to the point called happiness?

But you do, over and over again in dozens of threads. Earlier this week we had three affirmations you liked, you read them once but didn't say you were repeating them over and over to yourself.

Quietvoice has posted links to lots of youtubes you've called inspiring, but two posts later you're not inspired at all, you've forgotten about affirmations, and you're back to beating yourself up.

Lots of people on UF are cheering you on. We want you to have a happy, satisfying and fulfilling life, with oodles of confidence and at least one or two close real-life friends. No one can do it for you, desperate, and posting endlessly about your failings and your incurable mental illness isn't helping.

I'm now going to look for those affirmations we came up with so I can repeat them here. Basically, they were the opposite of the thoughts you were expressing about yourself and your life.

The opposite. That means a complete 180 from where you've been for at least the last 10 years and probably much longer. It's not going to be easy, but it's going to feel better. We just aim for slight improvement on day one, a bit more on day two, some backsliding on day four and a minor breakthrough around day seven, the general trend being onwards and upwards.

The ego is very defended against change that comes from what other people *think* you *should* do. The choice is always yours.

I'm so happy with people's specially your help here..Please don't get bored with me. My disease evolved through years of abuse so it's hard to recover.

This is the kind of crapola you keep coming out with. You're not dribbling in a psychiatric hospital, you're a responsible citizen who goes to work, pays his bills, keeps a roof over his head and food in his stomach.

So what if your disease evolved through years of abuse? All that means is it will take a while to retrain your brain. You continue abusing yourself with the thoughts you think, and we know you think horrible things about yourself because you post them here.

If you say "it's hard to recover", it will be. In fact it's obvious that right now -- and again, for many years leading up till now -- you've believed it's impossible. Very few things are impossible if you set the challenge for your mind.

I'll let you in on a little secret. I wasn't joking when I described planet earth as a rotating loony bin. We're all damaged to a greater or lesser degree. Our task is to deal with it.

It's like you're stuck in a bog wailing that it's impossible to get out, while other members such as quietvoice and I are yelling at you from the edge, holding out long sticks, throwing you ropes... and you just keep saying it's impossible.

So here are the three New Thoughts I offered you this week.

I'm confident and happy.
I know what I'm doing and I do it well. I am safe.
Life just keeps getting better!

Read them over and over. Write them out 50 times each. Put them on cards and keep them on the dashboard of your car to look at when you're stuck in traffic. Say them aloud with feeling and belief. If you keep doing this, and do it often enough throughout your day, you'll find them more and more real in your daily experience.

I should be positive but it's so hard with a brain that's neuro chemistry impaired so much. I'm actually very happy with your help gives me hope and I know I should do better.
