excessive brain activity..A warning from the past

Postby desperate788 » Sun Dec 02, 2018 7:43 pm

That excessive brain activity which was doom for me a decade ago happened again tonight. It may be related to joy I get from music. It's very harmful and mustn't happen again. What should I do?

I don't know what you mean by excessive brain activity. Are you talking about rumination, ie. too many thoughts about bad things in the past?

As far as I know, the concept of mindfulness is most beneficial.

You can choose what you think about, desperate. An unwanted thought comes to mind, you can no longer do anything about whatever it is, you switch to a pre-chosen thought that feels better.

It's your mind. You can choose what you focus on.

You can think happy thoughts or sad thoughts.
