Lost touch with myself

Postby Aonaqtai » Sat Apr 06, 2019 1:38 am

I do not know when it happened but I do know my whole life I've only tryed doing what others did for themselves. I can't go on in life this way. I'm taking a big hard look on the inside. My spirit is fighting for a chance to get out.

One of the most relevant turning points in finding direction in life is first understanding the specific answers do not reside outside yourself. Everything you need is within. The problem most people have is they don't trust themselves to make choices for their own happiness, so they go looking for anecdotal evidence with other people.

If the number one movie in the world is not a genre you like, then would you go see the movie anyway because allot of others are? If a hit country star is in town and the hall where they're playing is almost sold out, does that mean you go run out and buy a ticket so you can be there too? Not if you don't like that performer or style of music. If all your friends say Hawaii is the best place to take a vacation, but you hate islands and long flights are you going to go anyway?

It sounds like from you brief introduction, you have done these things already (from a general application perspective). You see people happy doing something, so you surmise that "something" will also make you happy. You need to break free from the collective on social media and whatever social forces define you and discover yourself. That means you don't advertise it by profiling it on social media to see who "likes" it.

If you have an interest in something, pursue it, research it, but look at it privately and focus on how it makes you feel. Happiness is a very personal matter, not something that needs to be polled in public. There are things I like that most of my close friends have ZERO interest in. Not everything matches in the universe. You find those things that tickle your funny bone and enjoy those aspects of your life without looking for approval. Whether its a crowd that shares your opinion or a room of one, shift your focus to being true to yourself. Its all in there. I wish you all the best.
