I am unable to send PMs just yet as I am a new user. Maybe you can message me with your email?

Ahem!

Don't get too chummy too fast with new member Demerise831, James. This isn't someone we know here yet.

Perhaps, but the person is offering help about the subject I care about

You've been offered advice already from forum members who are known and respected, and who don't immediately want to move the conversation to where it can't be seen by others.

You aren't going to get help for your OCD on this forum. It can't be done -- and certainly not by retiring to a private room.

To tell you the truth, Candid, I am pretty new to trying to solve this problem. This forum was almost the first time I have seriously tackled these problems. I really had no idea what I was. I had these memories that haunted me. I am eternally grateful for how you guys put it in perspective. However, I will not brush this aside, and I still need to have this discussed. If I was an abuser and a part of the problem, then I will definitely not sweep it under the rug. I need all the help I can get at this point

I reckon the new member is either a bigger crank than you or a conman who's out to exploit you. Either way it's your call. You don't want help you just want to keep going on about your 'issues'.

I don't believe you.

If you're so convinced you abused someone, and if you "definitely" won't sweep it under the rug, why have you ignored the many suggestions to turn yourself in to the police?

You could also do everything in your power to track down your 'victims' and ask them how they felt about it... assuming they even remember it.

I predict you would then have three 'victims' and the entire staff of a police station laughing at you.

If you don't like that idea, for pity's sake get the real-life help you need. I'm done with you.

The thing is, I do not know how to approach the subject. As of yet, I do not have time for real life counseling (I will at some point), and I simply have no idea how would I approach the police or anyone with this. I am just lost.

I am simply wondering what the statistics on all of these are. There must be some study on this sort of stuff somewhere

Do psychiatrists or counselors deal with cases such as this often? Would they understand what I was talking about if I explained my situation to them?

I feel slightly better by your reassurances. Still a long way to go obviously, but I am really grateful to have people reassure me!

I feel like these fears and feelings have started to resurface. It also doesn't help that I have severe agoraphobia and am quite limited in getting the help I need. I often wonder what the frequency of these kind of feelings is?
