Morning/Evening mood change

Postby SamH » Thu May 09, 2019 9:57 am

Dear all,

Recently, I have been experiencing significant mood difference between morning and evening time.

Every morning, I wake up very depressed, stressed, narrow minded, pessimistic. I can't imagine any think good. This changes dramatically in the evening when I am a very productive person, optimistic, happy, relaxed.

I am really afraid of the morning. `it is such an awful feeling. Would anyone have an advice for me ? Is this something normal ? and how can I cope with it.

I am 29. No mental health BG (although there might be but not diagnosed). Bad sleep patters and sleep hygiene (I sleep at 1pm and wake up at 8, also I wake up many times during the night)

I really appreciate your help.

Thanks
Sam

Are you a coffee drinker, by any chance? A lot of people wake up feeling rotten, and that it doesn't shift until they've had their first cuppa. This could be the reason you're not sleeping well.

That could be the reason actually. I have never thought about it but this got really worse for the last few days (since I started fasting) which meant no morning coffee. Yes coffee is a daily routine for my.

Thanks for the replay

If you plan to continue, this may make you think again.

You might be addicted to emotions like 99% of the population.

It could be a symptom of depression because diurnal changes are a common symptom. Some people wake feeling awful but feel better as the days go on. Others the opposite way. Do you ever wake early and can't get back to sleep? Similar symptom called Early Morning Waking or EMW.. Try keeping a mood diary and see if there's a pattern.
