It’s been 5 months since smoking but last night a drank quite a lot and took a hit from a joint. I’m quite disappointed in myself but I guess that one hit showed me that I don’t need weed. I was just anxious the entire time after smoking. But I was just wondering how much this will put me back in my recovery.

Many people take several goes to quit so don't feel too bad about it. Lesson is alcohol skews judgement and lowers suggest ability. Make a choice to stop again or carry on until you're ready.

It all depends in terms of whether it "sets you back". I would give it a couple of weeks. If old symptoms return with a vengeance, then you probably took a couple of months back. If not, then you may have been lucky and side stepped a landmine. Whatever the case, do what you can to avoid such situations in the future. Since alcohol lowers inhibition, either don't drink or be moderate so you don't get tempted to smoke a joint when intoxicated.

I smoked 12 nights (oil) after 3 months clean. Within one day of stopping, PAWS was set back 3 full months (didnt experience acute withdrawal though).

Youll know within a few days.

One hit won't set you back long, but stressing about it will make you feel worse than it should. Both alcohol and weed makes the next few days of PAWS very intense but they pass. But you definitely won't be back to day 1.
