Boyfriend depressed, at a loss

Postby Anonymous218 » Tue Aug 20, 2019 4:29 pm

My boyfriend suffers from depression and I am finally at a loss of how to continue. It's been almost seven weeks since he has responded to me in spite of my constant attempts through every channel I have. He has done this before a few months ago and that time it was six weeks. It is really horrible because I am the only one who he is actually ignoring, he gets on social media and will post and respond or react to all of his friends but my comments are completely ignored. He hasn't changed his relationship status so I assume we are still together. I have just been trying to be there and be supportive but he doesn't even read my messages, it's like I don't exist. I just don't understand why he is like this. Last time he did this it was because he was "wandering lost and out of his his mind". He is a amazing person and I don't want to lose him but I just don't know what to do and I don't know if this "normal" behavior with someone in his condition or what. I don't want to leave him but I don't know how to reach him in the darkness.

No matter what he might tell you to your face, or what field on a computer program he neglected to change, his actions show that he's moved on.

Perhaps, you should follow suit (move on, that is).

And why are you the way you are?

What makes you believe that what you described about your own behaviors is in any way healthy? What makes you believe the focus of your time should be on him and not you?

You allow six weeks of silence and then another seven weeks. You accept being ignored. And in an online relationship no less! Do you believe you are not deserving of a healthy relationship? Do you believe you are not worthy of respect?
