Keep wanting to argue with people

Postby its_me_123 » Wed Dec 11, 2019 7:48 pm

Hi there,

I am new here so would like to say hi.

I have a question and situation that has been bothering me for a while.

I keep seem to want to argue with people. I’ve had some falling outs with people at work, so of which has been my fault and also their fault. We have made up but I still seem to find a need to annoy them and argue again.

Can anyone tell me why this could be or have any ideas what could be behind this?

Thanks

whenever you feel like arguing , you might just try to hear out the other side and try being neutral with your response. try for once to enjoy the disscussions and not turn them into an argument and see how that makes you feel.

I know a friend exactly the same. Constantly falls out with everyone. She'll fall out with a person who she likes simply because they don't share her opinion on one thing. Then suddenly that person she's fallen out with will have a disagreement with someone else who my friend doesn't like, then suddenly she's the best thing since sliced bread again.....until the next time she says something that doesn't support her views.
She goes over the top over trivial things which then causes conflict. She reads text messages from friends out to me , and interprets them as negative. You can tell by the tone in which she reads them out. She makes them sound like how she would say it , with an aggressive tone when in fact there is nothing in the wording to suggest any form of aggression. She puts words into peoples mouths to.

Some of this is down to several reasons:
She doesn't like not getting her own way.
Her family are argumentative, and controlling. This is the norm for her now.
She's overly sensitive. So treats everyone with suspicion and thinks everyone is having a go at her.

Like with any action, think long term. How many people are going to support or be around in years to come when you're known as that rude argumentative person.
