PAWS From THC please help

Postby Newme20 » Sat Feb 08, 2020 1:13 am

Hi there I’m new here, I’ve been looking at everyone’s case and finally decided to make an account. So I am 130 days clean of marijuana, a little over 4 months. When I quit in octorber that first month I was fine, just a little cravings.

Right at the end of that month I got hit with extreme anxiety attacks for what would be the whole month. Couldn’t get out of bed in the morning idk how I manage to go to work. This continued but decreasing slowly into the 3rd month. By the middle of the third I had some good days and the bam I started to get depression and ocd thoughts. Very negative ones and I got a really bad wave at the beginning of the 4th that I still have. Extreme depressed feelings and can’t sleep more than 4 hours. I’m so exhausted and tired of this situation.

I’m looking for hope from anyone that went through this. I also developed this annoying coping mechanism where I repeat lyrics of songs over and over till it feels like my head will blow. We this really pass? I went to see a doctor today because I’m desperate and I got medication for depression , low dosage to take at night and she said I should try sleep meds. I’m scared to do this and even more scared that this is me and I have mental illness now.

Hello newme20.
Welcome to the forum..
I am in the same boat. You already made a huge step by being 4 months of weed..congrats.
How long were you smoking?

I also have terrible OCD like symptoms (intrusive obsessive thoughts) and my doc put me on meds.
I still do not know what to think about them.
I do feel better with them and can think a little clearer, but I know it is only a temporary solution.

I am also suffering from insomnia.

For me it is worse in the morning and the afternoon were these thoughts that i have schizophrenia or some other menthal illness keep bothering me and driving my anxiety through the roof.

I am at the end of week 5 now..

Please post, it will make you feel better.
The other users are a great help during this dark hours.

Stay strong..

@klim @unususal thanks for the replies I smoked for 11 years total but only the last 2 years all day everyday. Specially with pen cartridges and concentrates. I’m terrified of taking meds and feel that would make it worse. This has been the worst time of my life and I hope is normal and that I get through soon. Or Atleast that the strength of the waves become weaker.

Like I said those are my symptoms and I’ve been struggling With staying asleep the last 2 weeks. I can fall asleep but after 4 hours is just dream after dream and me waking up instantly. Which interruption of sleep makes it worse I imagine. I just have such bad days sometimes that I feel this is me now. I hope to god not and that this truly passes me. It don’t help that I’m under a lot of stress from life, money, job wedding ect but I’m trying to take it a day at a time. Also no sex drive which I used to be very active.

Thanks for the post. It’s just so overwhelming that this is happening. Sometimes is hard to believe it’s weed and that it’s just me now but I know it will pass. How are you doing ? How long did your worse last

Yeah weed was such an awesome relaxing thing then the withdrawal is just such a prick that only half gets.
You'll go thru the motions a lot but coming into 5 months I was a lot more relaxed and started to feel good and 6 month is apparently the turn around for it all.
People go at different rates though just don't be hard on yourself if you still get them at 7 months. You will get better we all will just stick with it and stay strong brother

Yeah man(lady), it sounds like weed paws to me. Only cure is time, let your brain heal. Not the answer you want to hear I bet, but try to not think about it; accept this as your life for now but know it will get better in time.

@newme20 you're doing great man(lady).. haha. All sounds normal to me. On my third time quitting it's a lot easier since I know what is going on with my body and that I've seen that things to improve over time. I'm never going back I can tell you that. Keep your head up!

This exactly. If I didnt know what was going on inside my head; I would have driven myself crazy. You'll feel better in time @newme20; dont dwell on your symptoms, accept that your life is sh** for now.

and @imondayXX lol @ man(lady)...I dont even remember writing that haha looks so stupid when I read it now
