common types of depression include the following.

1. Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)
If you have this depression you need clinical help and symptoms are:

you don't enjoy normal activates like before
Changes your weight
Changes sleep pattern
Feelings of worthlessness and guilt
focus problem
Thoughts of death
think about suicide
If your teen is having suicidal thoughts, contact 911 or your family therapist without delay

2. Persistent Depressive Disorder (PDD)
Dysthymia, now known as persistent depressive disorder, refers to a kind of chronic depression show for more days than not for at least two years. You can be in three type of sufferer:

PDD symptoms include:

    Loss of interest and pleasure in your life
    decrease self-esteem
    Sleep Problems
    Sleeping too much
    Feelings of hopelessness
    lack of energy
    Changes in appetite
    focus problem

3. Bipolar Disorder
you have abnormal and moody characters and known as mania.

    Fatigue, insomnia, and lethargy
    Unexplained aches, pains, and psychomotor agitation
    Hopelessness and loss of self-esteem
    Irritability and anxiety
    Indecision and disorganization

4. Postpartum Depression (PPD)
If you are pregnant you feel it

    Mood changes
    Trouble bonding with your baby
    Appetite changes
    Feeling helpless and hopeless
    Loss of interest in things you used to enjoy
    Feeling inadequate or worthless
    Anxiety and panic attacks
    Thoughts of hurting yourself or your baby

5. Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD)
Among the most common symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) are irritability, fatigue, anxiety, moodiness, bloating, increased appetite, food cravings, aches, and breast tenderness.

6. Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

If you experience these problems depression, sleepiness, and weight gain during the winter months but feel perfectly fine in next season..

I'd say mine was atypical. I experience it mostly as a weight in my head. I don't have low self-esteem. I'm happy about my life, though there are a few fundamental issues. I take medication, but I generally have "crashes" on Friday evening, and always during the first couple of days of vacation.

I'm not generally an "all or nothing" thinker, and my colleagues would say that *I'M* the one who constantly calls attention to the good things that are happening, when they can only see the bad. My basic needs are pretty well satisfied, most of them, and I feel pretty good about the future (even though I'm 54).

I had a catastrophic injury as a child, and I was bullied mercilessly all through it. I'm enjoying the Uncommon natural depression program, but lots and lots of the emotional factors and thinking patterns it addresses aren't really about me. I'm working through it, but it does really seem like my depression is a disorder deep in my psyche, so deep that I can't even feel its roots.

I will say, of course, that I've never had a pleasant dream in my life, and so the dream cycling explanations seem pretty on point, even though the triggers for my depression are all throughout the day--neuroses that really irritate me, suddenly dropping things that break...accidents. Frustration is a big one. I really would like to talk with someone about my experiences.
