Did I freak her out by mentioning a synchronicity?

Postby Algorithm » Tue May 18, 2021 6:50 am

I came into contact with a user in a forum that I had a little bit of a push/pull relationship with. Everything went fine until I pointed out to her that we have a shared event 8 years ago. It involved posting pictures of ourselves right after each other, and she was the one who following me.

I jokingly wrote that she stole my thunder.

Well, she apparently took this as a bigger sign than I did and wrote back that she has no idea who I am and that there is nothing going on between us (even though there was).

Now, I have not seen or heard from here since then (several days) and I'm wondering If this can throw someone off that bad or if it's just a coincidence?

Would you have been freaked by that?

I'll update whether there is any life signs of her :)

This person is a stranger. Let it go.

Perhaps you are fantasizing to develop a deeper-than-online relationship with her?

So, some stranger online "ghosted" you.

What else is going on in your life?

The above is from a thread you started in 2016. It was some random match in an app.

Here you are 4+ years later in a similar situation. You apparently have not learned. You continue creating relationships in your mind that for the other person do not exist.

She told you straight up that she has no idea who you are and that there is nothing going on between you. But you deny it.

Did you "freak her out"? Who knows. Probably not. My guess is she put you in the "stalker" category. She obviously did not put you in the "prince charming" category. It isn't so much her being freaked out, but rather just annoyed by you.

Did you feel better now? Gotten it out of your system? The other girl was a misunderstanding (was not the same girl but I thought so).

This is the same girl. And yes I know for sure it is.

She was not upset with me and wished me well, and I took her at face value. But now that she showed no activity, I'm wondering if she freaked out over it.

Just how miserable and ugly must you be to be carrying this much venom in a forum?

All I can say to both of you is that one doesn't need enemies with friends like you guys. You should both be ashamed of yourselves.

But you sure put me in my place.

She was referring to the guy who posted a picture years before. I am not denying that part of her comment, but I'm starting to suspect that she did in fact remember it.

You are asking strangers on the internet about the intentions of another stranger on the internet. How do you really expect anyone who doesn't know her to know her intentions? Shall I pull out my crystal ball, or wait, I've got a couple of Tarot decks I can consult.

Apparently, my other question was not off-topic at all.

I am NOT asking about her intentions, I'm asking about her probable reaction based on how you would have taken it.

If she just went on with business (like done anything), I would not have started the thread.

I took her at face value when she said that she has no idea who that guy was. and wished me well.

I did not think of it as synchronicity when I told her that, but I realize now that it's how she probably took it. Or am I wrong?

Her reaction is not a probable reaction. She actually ghosted you.

"her probable reaction based on how you would have taken it." —What does this even mean? How I take it is that she's not interested. Whatever. Move on.

I will ask again: do you take it as a sign of synchronicity when two users "mirror post" each other, with photos of themselves?

I did not, for the record. But maybe some women freak out over it.

Do you feel better now? Did you get that out of your system?

You asked for an opinion, "Did I freak her out...?"

You asked for this opinion based on a ~200 word description of the situation. Other than your previous threads, this is the only thing we know.

My opinion, is that she is being polite and that you come across as a stalker. You don't agree with my opinion? Okay, fair enough. My opinion hurts your feelings? That is a you problem, not a me problem. I should be ashamed for sharing my honest opinion? Lol. Nope.

If you want people to coddle you and only give you opinions that you want to hear or that make you feel good, then don't solicit advice from strangers on the Internet.

Then I'm an 8 years late stalker, since the episode is that far back. I did not save her photo or contact here after that. Never said a word about it, never friended her, nothing,..

I just told her it now while we were chatting and talking nonsense to each other.
