Hello everyone!

I am new here so I wanted to introduce. I'm Floortje (nickname), from Europe and I came here to find out more about hypnosis. Not to practise it, but to understand more about a (negative) experience I had.
Hope to find lots of information here :)
If there are any questions, feel free to ask.

Hello everyone, my name is... well, it's pretty obvious from my screen-name

I'm an independent Christian chaplain, trained to the level of a community chaplain by a course offered in the National Association of Christian Ministers. My goal is to start a ministry as a street-chaplain. Essentially, a street-chaplain does for homeless people everything any other chaplain would do in any other situation: offers support and emotional and spiritual counseling (my specialty, through my training, is in grief, loss, crisis, and trauma counseling), provides whatever help he or she can personally provide, performs religious ceremonies as required or desired, and works as a liaison between the homeless and organizations with better resources, such as medical institutions, the local housing authority, shelters and food pantries, etc.

Per that lengthy paragraph, I have training as a counselor, specializing in grief, loss, crisis and trauma. The study material for the course was "Ministry of Presence" by Whit Woodard, and "The Complete Guide to Crisis and Trauma Counseling", by Dr. H. Norman Wright. As I studied from these materials, I noticed a lot of hypnotic techniques. I noticed an emphasis on rapport and guided imagery, for example. Dr. Wright also made mention of E.M.D.R. therapy as an effective tool, but only one which a qualified professional should use. As I am mentally disabled (my last diagnosis was major depression with psychotic features; before that, it was Schizoaffective Disorder. I have a friend with a Bachelor's in Psychology, who believes I have high-functioning Schizophrenia), and living on S.S.I., my funds are limited. Additionally, I've attended College three times - once for an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice with A.I.U., once for a Bachelor's in Religion with Liberty University, and once for a Bachelor's in Business Management with Strayer University, which I planned to use to get a degree in Psychology elsewhere, - and dropped out each time; twice because of circumstances beyond my control (my family was homeless, and we were traveling from one town to another), and the third time was on me. Due to Strayer's loan scheduling, when I failed my classes for a second time and chose to just drop out, I was left with student loan debt I can't repay, so I don't really have the opportunity to go back to College. I get what training I can from what resources are available.

I have taken some free courses in hypnosis from H.P.T.I. and H.M.I., and with a major discount from Udemy, I was able to take Dan Jones' course on Ericksonian Hypnotherapy. I've always had an interest in hypnosis, and seeing how prevalent concepts of hypnosis are in counseling, I figure that any training I get in hypnosis and hypnotherapy can only help improve my efficacy as a street-chaplain.

Hello everyone

I'm 56 and from Denmark.

I sought out a hypnotherapist a month ago, when I was facing exams and my old exam anxiety reared its head again. I had a really great, session. I could not afford more, but having gone into trance successfully and feeling fantastic afterwards, I went online to search for more. Even though it didn't help much with the exam, I was absolutely converted.

Since then I've read up like crazy, and listened to various hypnotherapists/hypnotists on YouTube and websites, every night. I have a couple of anchors pretty well embedded, and trance quite easily. I have self-esteem and other issues, so plenty to work on.

I have a question, which I will put in a new topic.

Thank you. :)

Hi,

I'm Colleen Hitchcock, Board Certified Hypnotist & Certified Instructor.

I'm currently operating my practice, Scottsdale Hypnosis in Scottsdale, Arizona.
I'm also training and certifying hypnotists in 7 Day Intensive Training to get their 100 hours done at Scottsdale Hypnosis Institute.

In a previous life I was a Regional Manager for a Boston management consulting firm doing
corporate culture changes for Fortune 100 corporations.

I find the ability to create change quickly through hypnosis an exciting and fascinating field.

I have experience working in a Phoenix Medical Center Emergency Department, and wrote
"Healing Hypnosis in the Emergency Department and for Comatose Patients" for the Hypnosis Journal.

I believe our medical centers should be racing to install hypnotherapy department that operates throughout
all their departments.

If anyone has questions, or I can help anyone with questions about the field, feel free to contact me.

I got into hypnosis to study it and learn more about it. So I started with my first 100 hours. When you get done with that, have done all your friends and those around you, the next natural step is to open an office. Split one with a fellow student to keep your costs down and before you know it, you'll be flying on your own. If anyone is interested in NGH Hypnotist Certification, you are invited to come for training in sunny Scottsdale, Arizona. My course is set up for pre-study materials and being able to finish within 7 days. Not only knowing what you need to know, but having practiced on volunteers, certified, with a year free membership to NGH, materials and marketing to start your business and the confidence to do it.

This is an interesting message board, glad I found it!

I began learning hypnosis in 2003 after my mother passed away. My father began learning hypnosis in the 1950's, so I have been around it most of my life. Following in his footsteps during the last years of his life created a new bond between us that means a lot to me.

I live and work in Dallas, Texas but I also travel for sessions and to offer Hypnotherapy Training in various parts of the US. I have found that people need to start with some form of instruction, but doing the work by hypnotizing people is like going to graduate school.

The more I work with people and the more I teach, the more I learn. By working with a variety of different people and challenges, I am better able to work with others, even if their presenting issue is completely different from anything I have worked with before.

I'll look around and see what I can share to help others, though I am sure I can learn something here as well. I have already seen a few threads that have some interesting conversations going and look forward to sharing my point of view along with all the other good information that is already here.

Hello

I'm Mustafa living in Norway and from Iraq, in NW since 1994. I speak three languages. I've been into meditation all my life and has experienced peace and self induced hypnosis. The way Zen teachers teach is you have to have a good physical form before anything else, and this is diffucult. I'd like to experience trance in a deeper way and without all these requirements first...

I'm 31 years, out of form, and has been between pain and humiliation all my life until two years ago when i think i accepted humiliation.

Can you help me get started?
Armstrong
