Drug of Choice

Postby spazzlecrayola » Sun Sep 27, 2009 6:28 pm

I'm learning the "Drug of Choice" technique. I'm trying to, anyway.
There used to be a video of Darren brown doing it on youtube, but it's apparently been removed.
If anyone has any tips, or possibly a link to a video, that would be awesome.

Jonathan Atfeld has a nice description of the technique floating around (thanks Ant, for leading me indirectly to that one) but as with a lot of NLP techniques, it seem so simple that there must be something left out.

I think this technique can be adjusted to elicit other non-drug related responses as well. It's kind of a "gateway" drug of choice technique. Lol.

It's a really fun technique to learn and demonstrate.
The only thing missing from the descriptions is intent and expectancy ;)

I use the technique with a hypnotised subject, so as a direct suggestion technique, not NLP.

Here are some links for others who might be interested:

The last one has links to some videos.

Thanks,
I haven't actually had the opportunity to use this technique, nor the time to use it for myself. I guess i should just go do it, and watch it work. Then i'll know how it works! Intent and confidence, man. It's always intent and confidence, huh.

Thanks again.

And expectancy...heh.

I used this technique on myself last night. I have to say it worked to some degree. I used the feeling of whiskey as a guide.
I feel like I was half pretending and half genuinely feeling the effects.
I've done drunkenness effects with people i've hypnotized before, and i've often got the feeling that they were more mimicking their behavior while drunk, rather than experiencing the feeling of being intoxicated. I've noticed the same with hypno orgasms. They seem pretty fake to me.
So are these people feeling it, or faking it?
Anyone have any light to shine on this issue?

Considering you are a senior member here, i'm going to assume you are pointing out an ambiguity in my post with a hypnothetical question.

To be safe, the answer is no.

It might be that they are having orgasms similar to those that they normally have..... ie they always fake them.

"so drunk people get hypnotised easier?"

I would also say no, but a moderate amount...yes. People that have had a couple of beers dont think as rational as they would normaly do and are more emotional. But people that are drunk? No...they cant even concentrate. Let alone close their eyes without getting sick. :)

SatansToyStore did something similar. I dont know what technique he used but he got a woman to have an orgasm without her knowing what he was doing.

I used this technique last night with a friend. It worked very well. He was obviously getting drunk by about the 3rd round of "shots". Had him stand up, and he almost fell over. I had to catch him. It's an awesome effect. He was astounded, and had a blast. Thanks to all for the input.

That's good to hear.
Well done :)
It really is a lot of fun and can make you a very popular and in-demand friend!
It's worked as a great introduction to hypnosis for many of my more sceptical friends. When you tell them "Well I can make you drunk/high" the desire to be hypnotised for some, suddenly increases!
