do i have an eating disorder?

does what i describe mean i have an eating disorder?

my weights always zig zagging, i was 220 lbns then 300 then 230 and now im 250, every day i start off the day saying this is day one of a new diet, but by night time i hav eno control and im just going to a fast food place to get junk food and stop thinkin about it. this has been happening for 5 yrs, and nothing i seem to do works, i am always struggling with it and no matter how hard i say i will not eat bad today, i find myself in the car to go get pizza or this or that. so do I have some kind of eating idsorder?

How you describe it sounds more like bad food habits rather than an eating disorder, but only one person can really answer for sure. Eating disorders tend to revolve around using or controlling food as a way of coping or dealing with other things in life that appear out of control, so that's an important question to be asking yourself.

Diets aren't always the best way because they're often so regimental, and keep a person constantly thinking about food, which isn't always good. A better approach is to set out a sensible plan that you like - nothing too extreme - then to consciously think about it when you feel the need to go out for junk food. Stop for a second and ask if it's really what you want, or could there be something else better.

I don't know if you've ever looked at the Hypnosis Downloads website. It's run by the same company who set up this forum, so it's ok. There's a whole section devoted to health and food issues, and I think there are some tailored specifically at cutting down on junk food. It might be worth a look.
