Weed withdrawal & tinnitus (ringing ears)?

Postby johnrlivingston » Tue Oct 07, 2014 11:26 pm

Has anyone else experienced this from withdrawal?

My ears are ringing constantly. As my anxiety increases so does the tinnitus. The last 2 days they've been driving me nuts.

From what I've read, many of the physical issues I'm experiencing resemble those of benzo withdrawal... tinnitus, muscle spasms, etc. This sucks.

Suggest you have your blood pressure checked. Ringing in the ears is a classic indicator of high blood pressure.

Yes, it is normal. Comes with anxiety. Many quitters here posted this issue.

THANK YOU Salsa! In searching through other forums last night I found more accounts of tinnitus related to weed withdrawal. It's nice to know I'm not alone.

If I was in a better frame of mind I'm sure I wouldn't be so concerned about it, but I'm getting to the point where my mood is crap and I'm worrying I've damaged myself for life. I have to keep telling myself it's most likely temporary, but my tendency these days is to dwell on the negatives.

HDog, I checked my blood pressure last night and it's where it always is... perfect. I'm in pretty good shape for a guy losing his mind (lol).

@johnrlivingston

All those things - dizziness, brain fog, forehead/eye pressure, tired eyes, ringing inside ears etc. are anxiety issues.

Thanks Salsa.

I have all those symptoms, and a bag of chips. It's good to hear they're all aspects of what will some day pass.

I've had occasional twinges of it since quitting constant.

There'll be a sudden easing or loudening of 'hiss' or background noise
but I only notice it for a moment,
almost like ear-popping effect on a plane but without any pain, so far…..

Yes! I didn't think this might be a side effect of long-term withdrawal from cannabis, but I've noticed more of it than usual since quitting 7 months ago!

Thanks for the replies, all!

I'm realizing my tinnitus is, as salsa says, in step with my anxiety. Is that what you notice as well, Lynne? When all the other symptoms of anxiety increase, so does the ringing.

John - That may be about right. When I think back. I have been in a state of anxiety or feeling sort of scattered brain wise when it's happened. Just remembering how I have felt when I noticed it and the setting and all.... Interesting.....The brain is a strange thing when it's healing and changing. I was complaining about PAWS two weeks ago or less and then suddenly I felt pretty well and really clear.

Another thing that is strange for me is that my migraines, which I get on occasion are now preceded by migraine aura - or seeing flashes or specs of light. I really never had that before and now I do the past couple of times before one hits.
