Weird and shaky feeling out of nowhere

Postby george5030 » Wed Dec 24, 2014 6:20 am

Hello guys, Im not new on this forum though I am on this topic. Most of my posts are from the Addictions section but this topic is more suited to this section of the forum.

As the title says, last night I was on my bathroom washing my face as suddenly out of nowhere I had flashbacks of when I had really bad anxiety a year ago when I stopped smoking weed and began feeling kinda paranoid and confused. This was literally out of nowhere, I struggled with my post acute withdrawal symptoms for a long time from my quit of weed so its been a while since I felt this way. I didnt feel like extreme anxiety, it was just this slight paranoid feeling and confusion because it was too weird for me. I got into bed and started to feel hot flashes even though I was very cold. It took my a long time to get to sleep. I woke up around 8am covered in sweet like if I had a fever or something and was very thirsty. I researched and mostly everything I felt is related with low blood pressure level. My dad has diabetes so he knows about that stuff. Ive been scared today all day because the paranoid feeling I felt yesterday made me think of early signs of schizophrenia. Im sure this isn't schizophrenia at all but Ive been feeling weird all day thinking about how it happen all from a sudden. One thinf I know my have had effect on this is that recently Ive been pretty unhealthy with my eating habits, Ive been eating crap almost every day and Ive been drinking quite a lot. This weekend I did binge drinking thursday, friday and saturday. Im a college student so drinking has been part of almost every weekend.

Please Id appreciate your comments and suggestions.

Two months ago I had the exact same thing happen to me. The difference in your story and mine was I instantly attributed what was going on to a 24 hour bug, something minor. I was in an underdeveloped country and thought maybe I had drank unclean water, food or caught a little something from a local. Point being, I did not panic or have anxiety because there was no reason for me to believe it could be something more severe, there was no need for me to research if it was diabetes. You and I had the exact same symptoms, but different thought processes.

You have been treating your body like crap. You know this. So you are expecting, pre-sickness that when you get ill that it could be something major. That causes underlying anxiety hidden beneath the surface. As soon as your body began to get a little under the weather, your mind began panicking that it could be the big one. It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Treat your body better and your thought process will change, this will reduce your anxiety.

Hey man! In my opinion you experienced a mild panic attack. I know these feeling too well. Here are my arguments:

- it was induced by a thought (a bad memory)
- it scared the sh** out of you
- you thought you were going crazy (schizo) which is typical for high anxiety
- you felt weird afterwards
- low blood pressure doesn't have anything to do with fear

It might still be paws or a consequence of heavy drinking. Lay down the alc for a while.

Thank you for your replys guys. You bring peace to my mind. The weird thing is that it's the first time this happens to me in a long long time. This happened to me on my first months when I quit weed and now it's been a year and 9 months since I quit. Anxiety wasn't totally out of my life but it was totally under control. I guess eating too much crap and drinking too much affected me. I'll retake my healthy lifestyle.
