my feelings are so extreme!!!!

Postby shoeshoe29 » Thu Jun 18, 2015 10:34 pm

From being as tiny as i can remember, ive always felt every single feeling i have to the absolute extreme!! If im angry then im completely volatile and aggressive, if im upset im not just sad or down, im absolutely a broken mess who feels like one more step and i would lose all sense of reality, and if im happy then i swear i feel like so blissful and if i bottled up that feeling then i could sell it as a drug and be a multimillionaire!! If im fed up or just a tiny bit bored i sit questioning what is the point in life (i dont mean im suicidal) im just like life is so shitty and dull like whats the meaning to it. Its tiring feeling every emotion so crazy intense!!!! Xxxx

Do you act on your feelings, I mean, are you impulsive or do you manage to keep things rational even though they are emotionally intense?

That can be dangerous, as you probably know yourself. What have you tried so far? Have you spoken about it with anyone?

I havnt tried anything because its how ive been from the moment i was born i guess, because how i am now is all ive ever. Maybe its normal for some people to just be this way and maybe some people dont even see a problem if thats the way they are but i feel like its completley abnormal and i hate it. X

Look, feelings take over all of us from time to time, but if you feel that your feelings are overwhelming you and you are not in complete control of how you act a lot of the time, I would suggest that exploring with someone about it could possibly help you to get to the route of the issue. Feelings can get complicated. Have you considered talking to a professional, like, a therapist or something?

I feel like a need a valid reason to go and see a therapist, like i should have a root cause for me being the way i am in the first place and then we could talk through that root cause and go someway towards fixing me. Does that even make sense??xx

The thing is... not knowing the root cause is exactly the reason to consider therapy. If you knew the root cause, it's easy to fix it. Finding out is hard. It's ok to ask for help in finding out.

By the sounds of it, you have extreme feelings but you can manage them. Have you been in situations where you thought you could actually be dangerous (to others or yourself)?

Shoeshoe29 - I tried to PM you but i'm new so it won't let me - I only really joined because I read a couple of your posts found them extremely relatable and hilarious lol - I have a million things I could say to help but I feel like a bit of a hypocrite posting on here because I'm still on the darkside (disgustingly dirty & foul but necessary security blanket of a chemical that may just be part of me now since I can't remember a time before and my natural balance is so Unbalanced I think t's actually permanently altered due to long term consistent use (like, i'm amoxycillin resistant too - same principle) so now my elevated WBC & immunosuppression therapy mean that f*ck knows where to start when I eventually find the strength to face my biggest fear and let it go) also - I don't think many people on here are really qualified to respond based on clear lack of experience/empathy/relevant knowledge or insight on half of the topics they're involved in. Still early days though - I'll stick with it! But yeah PM me - we have shared cultural reference and believe me I don't get that a lot lol. In a bit :P

I agree with WonderGurl. I would like to add that you shouldn't wait until it's too late, meaning that you are in a situation where you lose control and make a mistake you potentially regret your whole life. I don't know you, so I can't really give you advice, but it sounds like your lack of being able to control your feelings is a timebomb, waiting to explode. Just saying. Anyway, I wish you good luck! :)

Edit: Sorry for bumping this thread, just saw that it's quite old.
